ブブ ブ―――――

こんちわ~
はい、はい、私 BKA レイはまたようていを変えた。

haha. kk back to English.

i'll now be staying at the Ace Inn hostel in Shinjuku. i kind of know how to get there, but i just want it out there in case anyone wants to stalk me. ^^

ooooookai, here we go!

1: from Narita, take the JR Narita Express to Shinjuku, 3,110 yen
- using the Suica&N'Ex card, it'd be 1,500 yen for the trip from Narita to Shinjuku, not including the price of the card, but the card can be reused like infinitely and all i have to do is drop money on it

2: from Shinjuku, take the Toei Shinjuku Line to Akebonobashi, 170 yen

hmmm... found a bunch of interesting websites that helped me figure all that out, especially this one: http://www.tokyo-subway.net/english/index.html

it'll tell you what transfers you need to make to get from point a to point b separated by price, time, and transfers *wink* NJOY~

that first journey listed is the most expensive but it also involves the least amount of transfers. what do you think? rather than pay someone to roll my suitcase over to the hostel, i'll just do it myself and save myself 2,000 yen. that way, i can travel with less hassles.

also, because we DON'T qualify for the JR rail pass, seriously consider getting the suica pass. it looks like a good deal. i'll report more later after i look up all the nitty gritty, yeah?

*waiting for my cable guy*

What! What makes one eligible or not for a JR line? I'm curious where you found out, hehe.

Teresa is doing much more investigating and preparing than the rest of us x_x we need to pick up the slack, yo. These are important things to know before you go!

O! I found one earlier.. it was on the crappy Engrish Sophia homepage on the news part on the side. It was talking about the measles outbreaks they've been having, and it was talking about a health card we'd have to fill out saying if we had ever had the measles and when, or if we had the vaccination or something and when. Hmm... Other than that info, I don't think there's any required vaccinations or anything for Japan.

There, I did my part for the day.

Oh, and party at Teresa's hostel! Maybe it's next to karaoke.

I wonder if the Suica card is just like the metro cards in NYC? Cause those are super easy..

As for your two trip options, yeaah it might be better to get there quickly/without confusion the first time!

Yeah, after a day of online searching here is what I have learned about SUICA:

It can only be bought by those carrying foreign passports at Narita Airport or so. It operates much like the NY Railpass and is mostly important in terms of convience.

Here's how the 3,500 yen breaks down:
1,500 = The N'Ex pass to get you from Narita to wherever in Tokyo you need to get, normally priced it is 3,100 yen alone
1,500 = Money that goes directly on your Suica pass to be used however you should wish it
500 = Downpayment for your card

You can actually refund your card and all, but it'll cost you 720 yen or so.

The Suica pass can be used interchangeably with lines under the Pasco pass. Both are now like linked, so don't stress over whether or not your Suica pass will work in Tokyo. It does. Everywhere in Tokyo, except cabs.

The best part of the Suica pass is just that you don't have to run around the station each time you want to hop on, just hold your pass up to the magnetic pad and wait for the correct beep. There are 3 different beeps with 3 different meanings... seriously.

That websited I linked in my post is super convienent and will tell you most of what you need to know.

I've also found out about free WiFi spots and new things about cellphones in Japan. If people want to know, I will inform, but besides that, my nails are very not fun to type with so I will dance away about here or so.

OOOOOOOH YESSS!!!

I am RIGHT IN SHINJUKU for a week. ALL BY MY LONESOME!!! Swing by Ace Inn ASAP and play with me. The best part about this place is just that I can sleep in until whenever the hell I want. I'll be there for practically a week. >_< The showers cost 100 yen to use, but hell, at least I can use it whenever I damn well please. I'll also be crashing in a mixed dorm area so boys and girls UNITE!

kk...

i hop hop hops

i need to drive up to NOVA tonight, dentist appt tomorrow. will also watch a moooooooovie.

yay!!! DOOMSDAY!!! 3/14!!! day after tomorrow!!!

Ooh, Ace Inn...I almost stayed there this winter break. I heard it was pretty nice from people who have stayed there before so...good job! And yeah, definitely right in Shinjuks.

Oh, so I had also bought a voucher to redeem a 7-day JR pass this winter but just returned it recently. It's not that we can't ride the JR line, we just can't get those handy passes that you pay a fee for and can ride it as much as you want for however long you buy it for. Basically, we're not eligible cuz we're not just gonna be 'temporary visitors' and we have the college student one year visa.

Haha...travel time could be worse. We'll all get used to long commutes, so might as well get started early! Shinjuks is fun so I'm willing!

How am I supposed to figure out when I was vaccinated for measles??! I'll make something up...
